Kirk is the recipient of numerous awards and acknowledgments for his musical excellence including three Dove Award nominations, an NAACP Image Award nomination and has won two Stellar Awards-Gospel music’s highest honor. A twelve time Grammy® Award nominee, Kirk won his first Grammy® Award (2011) for Best Gospel Song (“It’s What I Do”––featuring Lalah Hathaway) alongside life-long friend and gifted songwriter, Jerry Peters. Kirk has also been honored with a Brass Note on the Memphis Walk of Fame and a Star on the Nashville Walk of Fame.
Sheryl Youngblood is a rising star blues singer/songwriter/drummer from Chicago. Sheryl has been prominently featured in the most prestigious venues of the world capital of the blues, as well as the notable Chicago Blues Festival and many other venues and festivals in the US and Europe. Sheryl composed “Red Hot Women in Blues” for a 2024 performance celebrating women in blues, presented by Delmark Records at the splendid Harris Theatre for Music and Dance in Chicago. This single was recorded at Delmark Records’ Riverside Studio by a constellation of the label’s stars, and also including Joanna Connor on lead guitar. Alexander’s musical journey began in Chicago in 2001, immersed in the blues culture. Raised in Florida, he found solace in music amid life's challenges. Returning to Chicago at age 10, he reunited with his bluesman father Linsey Alexander, igniting his passion. Guided by his father, Nicholas honed his talent, performing at iconic venues and releasing his debut album, “Lil Hoochie.” As Alexander continues his musical odyssey, his work remains a timeless tribute to the blues.
Ron, an iconic and internationally acclaimed Chicago style House Music DJ, will kick off the music offerings on the Snap-on Inc. stage with an eclectic array of Chicago House, electronic soul, funk and disco. In the bustling world of house music, few names resonate as powerfully as Carroll. Born in Chicago in 1968, Carroll’s journey in music began in the harmonious corners of his church choir. As a teenager, his early admiration for rock band Kiss evolved into a passionate interest in house music, sparked by a captivating DJ performance at a high school dance. This moment would lay the foundation for his illustrious career in the realm of electronic beats.
