The Mahone Foundation is proud to announce that Marieta Huff, Cyndean Jennings, and GeorgAnn Stinson-Dockery have been chosen to receive the 2026 Dr. Bryan Albrecht Living Legend Award.
“My parents, Mary Lou and Arthur, always led by example,” said Ardis Mosley, Director of Community Initiatives for the Mahone Foundation. “It is that ‘doing’ spirit among the 2026 Dr. Bryan Albrecht Living Legend Award recipients that makes our family so proud to recognize their efforts.”
The awards will be presented during the 26th Reaching for Rainbows “Pursuit of Excellence” Scholarship Gala on Friday, May 8, at Carthage College. The Dr. Bryan Albrecht Living Legend award recognizes the accomplishments of individuals representing Mary Lou and Arthur F. Mahone’s multicultural, humanitarian, and educational philosophy.
“First and foremost, I am humbled to have my name associated with this award,” said Dr. Bryan Albrecht, president emeritus of Gateway Technical College and former president of the Mahone advisory board. “This year’s recipients, as those in the past, have displayed true dedication and passion to better our community, just as Mary Lou and Arthur demonstrated.”
Marieta Huff
Huff was described by one nominator as the Mother Teresa of Kenosha. With the help of Immanuel United Methodist Church, Huff has provided decades of compassion and care for Kenosha residents living in homelessness. Huff’s message to others is to care about one another, and care enough to get out of your comfort zone and get involved. Huff is known to treat everyone – regardless of race, ethnicity or abilities – with equal respect, dignity and caring. “I admire the Mahone Foundation and its mission,” Huff said. “Thank you for the Living Legend Award, which I accept on behalf of the Supporters of Shelter, and I want to encourage other community members to care about the people in Kenosha that are suffering without shelter.”
Cyndean Jennings
Jennings is the dean of the School of Pre-College and Momentum Programs and Racine Campus Affairs at Gateway Technical College. Jennings served on the Lakeside Curative Board (emeritus) and continues to serve on the United Way of Kenosha County Community Impact Committee, the Kenosha NAACP Branch, the Kenosha Education Justice Coalition, and participates in the Southeastern WORKs network. One of her nominators said that Jennings advances educational opportunities for youth and adults, champions equitable access to resources, and strengthens the community through principled, inclusive leadership. Her impact is lasting; her service is genuine. “The work of Mary Lou and Arthur F. Mahone reflects the heart of our community, and I am honored to play even a small part in continuing their legacy,” Jennings said.
GeorgAnn Stinson-Dockery
Stinson-Dockery has displayed a commitment to improving the lives of women, children and families through her work with the National Birthing Project USA, including her service as the organization’s board president from 2013-2016. Since 2008, Stinson-Dockery has been the volunteer program director of the Birthing Project USA of Southeast Wisconsin implementing a model of community-driven, non-medical grassroots intervention to address disparities in infant mortality. “Receiving the Dr. Bryan Albrecht Living Legend Award is a tremendous honor,” Stinson-Dockery said. “I am grateful to be part of a community that believes in lifting others, creating opportunities, and building a better future.”
