Arthur F. Mahone Memorial Scholarship

The Arthur F. Mahone Memorial Scholarship is awarded in honor of Arthur F. Mahone, a beloved community leader and longtime Welding Instructor at Gateway Technical College. Created to celebrate his dedication to education, mentorship, and service, this scholarship is part of the Foundation’s broader mission to invest in local students and expand opportunities across Kenosha and Racine.
Through this scholarship, the Mahone Foundation ensures that Arthur Mahone’s legacy continues—by helping hardworking students gain the skills, confidence, and support they need to transform their futures.
Applications may be completed online using the buttons below. Paper applications are available upon request at mahonefund.org. Completed applications must be submitted online at mahonefund.org; or hard copies delivered to either the high school guidance office or the Kenosha Emerging Leaders Academy.

About the Scholarship
The Arthur F. Mahone Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually through the Gateway Technical College Foundation to students enrolled in Gateway’s Welding Programs. It supports students who demonstrate determination, craftsmanship, and a commitment to building meaningful careers in the skilled trades.
Eligibility:
- Enrollment in any Welding Program at Gateway Technical College
Purpose:
- To honor the impact and legacy of Arthur F. Mahone
- To support students pursuing high-demand technical careers
- To provide financial assistance that enables academic and professional success
How to Apply
Gateway students can apply for this scholarship during the Fall scholarship cycle.
Providing educational opportunities for economically and academically deserving youth, while supporting healthy lifestyle initiatives in communities of color.
The Mary Lou and Arthur L Mahone Foundation is a proud partner of the United Way of Kenosha County. To ensure ongoing positive community impact, the United Way of Kenosha County will serve as the Mahone Foundation’s fiscal sponsor as they broaden horizons and expand services.
